rain and thunder are associated pretty heavily with melancholy, but i always found both, especially rain to be very soothing and really cool events
idk why they're portrayed that way, especially when, not only for your ears, they also help the enviroment and ourselves, its kinda weird but it works when it starts raining in a sad scene, i guess it does help with the atmosphere
